changes in the method of travel between 1972 and 2002. The graph shows that ownership
of three or more cars or vans increased gradually from 1972 to 2002, but had a
slight decrease in 1992. The ownership of car or van had a constant fluctuation
between 1972 and 2002. The percentage of no car or van ownership had a dramatic
fall in those years.
Wales has the highest percentage of car or van users,
whereas the percentage of people who travel by train is the lowest in the UK. The
motorbike or scooter is the lowest means of transportation with only a 1.3
percentage use in England. The range of people who travel on foot fluctuates
between 10.3 and 12.5 percentage in the UK. Scotland has by far the highest
percentage of bus or coach use. In contrast, Wales has the lowest percentage.
